interTwin at IBERGRID 2023

interTwin and its many partners will be present at the 12th  12th Iberian Grid Conference (IBERGRID2023), taking place from September 25-29 in Benasque, Spain. Take a look at where you will find us on the programme:

Scientific Computing and Digital Twins: an interdisciplinary approach

WP6 Lead Isabel Campos ( CSIC) will make a general introduction on September 27th on Digital twins – including DT-Geo & interTwin:  Scientific Computing and Digital Twins: an interdisciplinary approachThis presentation will review the current challenges in the design and implementation of Digital Twins from the point of view of model simulation. Several scenarios will be presented diving into the different sets of requirements of the flagship applications in the projects DT-GEO and interTwin, and the different technical solutions available to tackle them. An analysis and similarities and possible collaboration paths will be made.

interTwin Digital Twin Engine

WP2 Lead Xavier Salazar (EGI) will present the interTwin project and the DTE on Wednesday September 27th: the interTwin Digital Twin Engine. The talk will present the general project status focusing on describing the first version of the Blueprint architecture which has been released in June 2023, the Use Cases supported and the contributions from Spanish and Portuguese institutions project partners. The content of the project’s First Software release due at the end of 2023, and the plan for our Open-Source Community will be also discussed, together with the activities to align the project architecture to what Destination Earth is designing. This presentation will review the current challenges in the design and implementation of Digital Twins from the point of view of model simulation.

interLink

Also on September 27th, WP5 Lead Daniele Spiga (INFN) and his colleague Diego Ciangottini will present interLink. In this talk ,they present the API layer developed by interTwin in order to guarantee a unique interface and thus a standard way for a cloud deployed service to communicate to any external system for the actual payload offloading.

itwinAI

And finally, on the same day, Alexander Zoechbaue (CERN) will present the itwinAI framework. This represents a comprehensive solution developed by CERN and the Julich Supercomputing Center (JSC) to facilitate the development, training, and maintenance of AI-based methods for scientific applications. It serves as a core module within the interTwin project, aimed at co-designing and implementing an interdisciplinary Digital Twin Engine. itwinAI streamlines the entire AI lifecycle, offering user-friendly core functionalities such as distributed training, hyperparameter optimization, and model registry.

Additionally, CSIC will present the SQAaas and JePL, the toolset developed under EOSC synergy that is being used and adapted to be used in Digital Twins part of the interTwin Quality Framework:

UPV will present OSCAR framework and the Infrastructure Manager that are also being used within interTwin
